Further Updates

I am sorry to inform you that Barry Turner has passed away.

He was Postgraduate Dental Tutor for many years and was always available with help and advice. He will be greatly missed.

From Mansoor Qureshi (Essex Branch BDA Hon Treasurer, Former Postgraduate Dental Tutor):

I first met Barry Turner in February 1987 when he was my VT Scheme advisor in the first ever Basildon VT scheme . From memory other than Clacton this was the only other scheme in Essex.

I found Barry's knowledge and passion for dentistry infectious . His calm manner and teaching style left a lasting impression on me encouraging me to embark on  a journey of life long learning . I even ended up following in his footsteps with my involvement in the local BDA section and ultimately as the Postgraduate Dental Tutor at Basildon.

Barry was a very able sportsman and became a competent Triathlete competing in many events.

A passionate and keen golfer our paths crossed again on the golf course . I have many happy memories of golf trips with Barry both abroad and in the UK.

Barry was  hard working and committed to any task he took on and became a strong advocate of the Rotary Club and was instrumental in raising funds with his annual Charity Golf day.

I will miss his sense of humour and happy demeanour.

My sincerest condolences to his adorable wife Irene and his son .

May you rest in peace my friend, colleague and mentor.

Important Message From Suffolk and NEEssex ICB

For review/ action - Draft dental plan stakeholder review

Suffolk and North East Essex Integrated Care Board has developed a Draft Dental Plan which has been produced following consultation with a range of stakeholders.  The plan builds on the actions included in the Joint Forward Plan.  The draft plan was discussed at the Integrated Care Partnership meeting on Friday 9th February and whilst the feedback was positive, some partners suggested areas for further development.

We welcome your feedback.  We can either arrange to meet with you to discuss it, or feedback can be shared via email.  If you’d like to arrange to meet with me, please get in touch.  If you’d like to share feedback via email, please send it to Nicola.Brunning@snee.nhs.uk

Please can feedback be shared by Friday 1st March.  The feedback will be incorporated into the final plan which will be discussed at the Integrated Care Board meeting on 26th March 2024 for review and agreement.  Should the plan be supported, we will continue to work alongside you and a range of stakeholders to launch and promote it and focus on delivering it.
