Preparing for NHS dental quality and payment contract reforms

MSE : Unscheduled care activity requirement for 2026/27

NHS dental contractors will be required to deliver 8.2% of their contract value as urgent/unscheduled activity in 2026/27:

A letter setting out the figures will be sent to eligible contracts.

Compass will be updated in line with these figures.

Orthodontics HWE : Approval for a Direct Award of a 10-year Contract

Effective from 1 April 2027

The contract term will be 7 + 3 years, with a mid-term review after Year 5.
