(attended by Bryan Harvey and Georg Schnellinger)
The report has been circulated via e-mail.
Further information can be found here: LDC delegates demand Government action following controversial reforms and Message from out-going Conference Chair, Sarah Canavan
There is now a material risk of Government failing to deliver on its promises to reform NHS dentistry, and there is little clarity over the government's ambitions, nor the resources it will bring to bear. We have just secured a debate in Parliament on this on 15 June - so please write to your MP and tailor your message with the local picture. https://bda.eaction.net/nowornever.

Urgent Message from Essex ICB
Dear Colleagues,Since April 2026, following the formation of Essex ICB, we have received a number of enquiries from patients in certain areas regarding difficulties in accessing dental services. This is a concern and represents a relatively new trend; at this early stage in the year, we would not ordinarily expect to see issues relating to patient access. We would like to take this opportunity to remind all providers of the expectation that, wherever possible, patients seeking care should be accommodated. In particular, patients who are experiencing pain or require urgent care should be prioritised and seen in a timely manner. We recognise and appreciate that appropriate treatment planning is essential to the effective management of your practices. However, we would ask that, where capacity allows, reasonable efforts are made to support access for patients who require appointments.Thank you for your continued support in ensuring patients across Essex can access dental care when they need it.
