Omicron Variant Update

Dear colleague,

In view of the new IPC Guidance issued recently from the OCDO - see link below for summary – and today's advice from the PM regarding the Omicron variant, practices may wish to consider exercising caution before adopting the new SOP protocols.

The aim must be to maintain and protect the health and safety of staff and patients, and bearing in mind previous success in the control of Covid infection, practices may wish to consider maintaining the existing infection control protocols.

Each practice should carry out an appropriate risk assessment, and ensure that they observe the necessary SOP.

Please watch for further guidance as more becomes known about the risk presented by the Omicron variant.
