LDC Meeting Monday 7th April 2025 (starting at 6.30pm)
This meeting will be held in person at Chelmsford Golf Club.
NHS England is to be disbanded and all ICBs in England have been told to reduce their running costs by 50% by the end of September 2025.
This is on top of the 30% cuts that many have already actioned.
This will impact all dentists, staff and patients.
The Commissioners of all 3 ICBs in Essex will be in attendance at our meeting in order to update us with the latest information.
Please make every effort to attend - in person, if possible - as this will facilitate voting for the officers to represent you as your Local Dental Committee. See: Agenda
Soup and sandwiches + tea and coffee will be provided. Online access: The link has been shared via e-mail.

Shiv Pabary (GDPC Chair) shares his views Tell the Chancellor: We need fair funding, not stealth cuts On Monday evening, 10 March, the Government quietly announced NHS dental charges in England will rise by an average of 2.3% from 1 April 2025. We all know this won't put a penny into this struggling service. So we've joined forces with campaigners at 38 degrees to tell Rachel Reeves and Wes Streeting to abandon the hike and deliver sustainable funding This story is all over our social channels - and our message is simple. Sign it, then Share it. The more colleagues and patients you can bring on side the better.
Many colleagues are struggling to keep their businesses afloat, and it is time we heard more than words from Government, we need action. The NHS dentistry budget has been static for a generation, with patient charges forming an ever-greater share of the total pot. This Government must not treat charges as a substitute for state investment. It is time for a proper plan to fix NHS dentistry - not more stealth cuts. This petition will ensure your voice is added to the hundreds of thousands of us who want a better deal for the profession and for our patients.
