Children’s Oral Health Experiences in West Essex
According to government figures more than 62% of hospital tooth extractions among children involved tooth decay in 2023/24. Hospital tooth extractions for young people are estimated to have cost the NHS £74.8 million and tooth decay remains the most common reason for hospital admissions in children aged between 5 and 9 years.
On behalf of HWE ICB, Healthwatch Essex has launched a project focusing on ‘Children’s Oral Health Experiences in West Essex’, with a survey on children’s experiences of using local NHS dental services.
To take part in the survey, click the pink box on the right:
Participants can share their experiences in an optional one-to-one interview. Anyone can sign up to take part via the contact form through the webpage above.
(All participants will be kept anonymous and any information you provide is strictly confidential. To be able to participate you must live in or near West Essex.)
If you have any questions contact lily.boag@healthwatchessex.org.uk.
