It is estimated that 1 in 10 children in this country suffer neglect. This session will cover neglect and what we can do to tackle this issue. It is brought to you free of charge by the Hertfordshire Safeguarding Children Partnership.

About the Event

Neglect is the most common reason for a child to be subject to a Child Protection Plan in England.

It is estimated to affect up to one in ten children in the country

The session content will include:

· What is neglect?

· Definition and types of neglect

· What are the signs

· National and local statistics

· Why it is so important to tackle neglect

· Neglect in adolescence

· What can we do to support?

The sessions are suitable for people who come into frequent contact with families and children as part of their jobs, but do not have safeguarding as their primary role.
